Can some one recommend a natural treatment for asthma?

+1 vote

I have developed asthma recently, am a 50ish (but don't look it smiley) causcasian women who is  otherwise healthy, with good blood pressure, moderately fit and no chronic health problems.

Unfortunately, asthma gets worse with each winter and i have some difficultly breathing so need oral steroids.  often, this results in a lung infection - pneumonia - and I need lots of antibiotics.

I've had a few older friends die of pneumonia, so I am very concerned.

Is there some natural prevention or treatment for adult onset asthma?   I am willing to try a lot of things.

my mother always made us breathe in steam with a cold or cough.

that's kind of like asthma, right?   maybe just take in steam every day.

boil some water, put a towel over your head and breath in steam in the morning and evening.   can't hurt and could make stuff better for you!
